12 Days of Christmas Giveaway

SVG Cuts  is having a 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway. Visit them and enter for a chance to win some great prizes.

Choirs of Angels

I confess to being a blog hopper. I love to visit blogs and see what other crafters are up to. The volume and creativity of others never ceases to amaze me. Recently I visited the blog Chocolate, Crafts and Bears Oh My! and saw some of Carol's wonderful work. This inspired me to try making some of her angels. I have made 5 so far.

Some of my co-workers fell in love with them so now I am left with a soloist. I will have to get busy and make some more so that the lone angel I have left will have some company.

Finished My First Set

Yes, I am happy to report that I have finished my first set of jewelry. Garnet and Grapes was one of the classes I took with Nina Libin at Palmetto Tatters, Tat Day 2010. It is not often that I take a class and finish the project in such a short space of time. I did struggle with the pendant a little and there is at least one join that I could have done a better job on, but I am happy with the results. Now to decide what outfit I will wear them with first.

Bugs and more

Last week I wanted a dragonfly to embellish a card for a friend.  Using Jon's pattern I made 2 dragonflies with Lizbeth size 20 Springtime then I emptied a shuttle of sz 20 Falling Leaves to make a third dragonfly. The dragonflies and a couple of butterflies were then used to decorate some cards.

( I have been needing far to many sympathy cards lately.)

More news from Tat Days

As I mentioned in my last post, my classes with Nina resulted in me completing 2 pairs of earrings and starting on the necklace from the 3rd class. I am very happy that I was able to accomplish so much in class. These are the pictures of my earrings that I took this past weekend.

I guess I am in a jewelry mode. The theme for the 2010 Tat Days was 'Fall into Tatting'. Jane Eborall designed that logo for the event. The logo is one of several on their pattern CD for 2010. This weekend I made a pair of earrings using that pattern.

I will post pictures of the necklace when I make some more progress.

TAT days 2010

I had a very enjoyable weekend.; I attended Palmetto Tat Days 2010 in Toccoa, GA. It is just a wonderful experience to spend time with people of like mind. I was able to see friends that I had not seen in a few years and I also made some new friends. With the internet making the world a smaller place I was able to put faces with friends whose blogs I read and find some I had not heard of  before. Each day was a joy sharing the love of tatting.
I wanted to combine my love of  tatting with my love of beads and signed up for classes with Nina. I was able to  complete 2 pairs of earrings and start in necklace in class. Not to shabby for someone who was intimidated and not real sure she was ready. I am very excited to be able to be able achieve  that much in 2 days. I will be posting pictures soon.

Shuttle entry No.1

I have woefully neglected this blog, but I am here. In April I attended the Atlanta Lace Guild workshop. I got a class taught by Jane Armstrong on 6 shuttle tatting. I was not sure what to expect, but I signed up any way. There were 9 of us in class and we had great time I still have to work on my tension but I was able to complete a small rosette.

Welcome

This will be my place to showcase my trials and accomplishments in the various mediums that I enjoy. Hopefully my techniques will improve over time and will.

I found the 365 Cards Blog last month and thought it would be fun to play along and see how many of the challenges I can complete. Today I have 2 cards that I created using the Super Sketchy Sunday (sss) sketch.
My fist card meets the challenge for Day 323 Sunday Sketch, Day 314 Braiding, and Day 308 Stamp on Ribbon.

My second card uses the same sketch from Day 323 SSS and meets the challenge for Our Daily Bread Designs a new member company on Splitcoaststampers. Their challenge was to use brown and dies or punches on your card.
