April Wrap Up

I got more crafting done this month than it would appear. I made 2 teapot sets from SVG Cuts. The Victorian Teapot set was for a friend and the teapot from Tea For You and Me is mine. Will have to take a picture to share next time. I made some Easter cards and my first Card in a Box. The cards were off in the mail before I realized that I had not taken a picture of either one. Hopefully I will remember next time. What I want to share today is one of the teapot sets and a few tatted crosses that I managed to take pictures of.

(Just noticed their latest design is a Card in Box. Can't wait to try this out. Yeah!!!)

Pattern: Free-tatting
Thread: Lizbeth sz20 , white
Though most have gone the way of electronic readers, I still enjoy making bookmarks. I enclosed one of these in few of the Easter Cards I sent out. Hope the recipients will find a use for them. I also made one in DMC sz80, green tatting thread, that  I used as a pin on Palm Sunday. I had to tweak the pattern, diagram and tatted model but, I love the way they turned out.

Thanks for stopping by,

Gwen

Paper and Vinyl

It's been ages since I have posted. I have manged to complete a few projects since my last visit, I will be sharing some of them in the next few days.

First off an Advent Calendar from Mary at SVG Cuts. I only did a portion of the project since the recipient will be traveling the first part of the month. Mary's designs are awesome. She and Leo are the owners of SVG Cuts and offer some of the best paper crafting kits available. They are the 2013 Winners of the Martha Stewart American Made Award. This week they are giving away a free kit. Yes a FREE kit, so click on over to their blog to get the file, then watch the assembly instructions on YouTube. You still have time to make a few projects before Christmas. You can also use the files with different papers to produce projects for birthdays, weddings for any occasion you can imagine.
(Valid through December 20,2013)

The Second project is a vinyl hurricane lamp. The French Lace Design is another of Mary's. This was the first vinyl project that they have produced. I hope they will continue offering vinyl projects periodically. The lamp components are from the Dollar Tree. I got the idea from several pins on Pinterest and some Google images of similar projects. So with my trusty E-6000, a vase and candlestick from the dollar store I now have a very cute hurricane lamp. I hope to complete a few more for gifts.

This project I saw on Heartfelt Creations. It was a DT idea from Olga. Using my ScorPal, paper trimmer and some dies I made these explosion boxes for the members of my card group. It was a fun project and a big hit at our Christmas get together.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to share some tatting projects in my next post.

Graduation Album

Using files from SVG Cuts' Graduation Day Kit, I made this:

It was given to a friend that earned her Bachelor's Degree. Wishing her much success as she pursues her Master's.

Paper, Shuttel and Thread

We are less from 2 weeks away from the official end of summer here. The schools are back in session and everyone is settling in to their Fall routines. I used some files from SVG Cuts to make some back to school home decorations and gifts for some family members and friends.

I used files from School Days, and Miss Baker's Classroom. Mary and Leo premier a new kit every Thursday/Friday and offer a free file every week. Their customer service is the best.

When I wasn't playing with paper I was working on my tatting. I have 3 of 4 Spinning Wheels coasters done. I will be starting the place mat as soon as I finish the last coaster. I am working this set from Mary Konior's book Tatting with Visual Patterns with DMC Cebelia sz 30. My third coaster has disappeared, hopefully I will find it soon or I will have to make another.

Until next time,
Gwen

Hello, It's Me Again

This blog has been woefully neglected. Up until this weekend I had not picked up my tatting shuttles, or knitting needles in months. I am not a very accomplished knitter any way so no surprise there, however I was taking part in the 25 Motif Challenge and thoroughly enjoyed that. I need to recommit.  Although I have been doing some paper crafts I did not take many pictures or post any. Thanks to Lelia, who left a comment for me this weekend I got out my shuttle and made a small butterfly from 50 Butterflies Migrating, Palmetto Tatters Guild (PTG on FB). I want to make a few more and send them on to Houston for the Butterfly Project. I will post some pictures later when I get some more done.

In the meantime here is a crate of chocolate filled carrots that I made to share with my co-workers over the Easter weekend. The crate and carrots were from 2 kits from SVG Cuts.

Choirs of Angels

I confess to being a blog hopper. I love to visit blogs and see what other crafters are up to. The volume and creativity of others never ceases to amaze me. Recently I visited the blog Chocolate, Crafts and Bears Oh My! and saw some of Carol's wonderful work. This inspired me to try making some of her angels. I have made 5 so far.

Some of my co-workers fell in love with them so now I am left with a soloist. I will have to get busy and make some more so that the lone angel I have left will have some company.
Thanks for stopping by,
